Year 4 mummies and other marvels at the British Museum

This week Year 4 visited the British Museum to learn about mummification in Ancient Egyptian times. During the workshop the Museum expert told the children how technology enabled them to look inside the mummies without having to unwrap them. Broken bones, amulets and even a bowl stuck onto a body’s head have all been revealed using CAT scans taken at a local hospital.

The children were also able to explore the galleries which had, amongst other items, statues, sarcophagi, mummies and decorated coffins on display.

Year 4 was a credit to the school by showing the 3Rs throughout the day.

Some of the comments from the children:

‘the best day of my  life’

‘amazing’

‘gory’
