In music we encourage children to listen to and enjoy music of different styles, and to be able to appreciate the main elements of music including rhythm, pitch and composition. Teachers use ‘Charanga’ to support their planning which is a living cloud-based resource that brings together great music, modern pedagogy and the latest educational technology. Every year, Year 5 learn to play the violin or cello and a group of children attend the ‘Festival of Voices’. Our ‘Singing Squad’ is a weekly lunchtime club open to KS2 children who participate in a range of events and performances throughout the year.
Instrumental tuition is available. However, this is an optional activity and is paid for on a termly basis by parents of participating children.
